International Book and Reading Day

This year, Book and Reading Day was celebrated with great excitement at Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten—a day that not only reminds us of the priceless value of books in human life, but also provides an opportunity for children, with their small worlds full of discovery and imagination, to form a deeper connection with books. On this day, all age groups in the kindergarten organized book fairs of their own—fairs designed according to the age, interests, and developmental needs of each group, turning the entire kindergarten into a colorful literary festival.

In every section, children walked eagerly among the books, turning the pages with their small, enthusiastic hands. Curious glances, hidden smiles, soft whispers, and pointing to the book illustrations all showed how deeply and joyfully the children engaged with this cultural atmosphere. For a child, a book is not just a set of printed pages; it is a window into a new world that invites them to travel through imagination, create stories, and empathize with characters.

After selecting and purchasing books, mothers sat beside their children and spent warm, intimate moments reading together. This part of the program became one of the most memorable moments of the day—a time when mother and child, side by side in calming tranquility, entered the world of stories. Hearing the mother’s voice as she read the tale strengthened feelings of safety, closeness, and love in the child’s heart, encouraging them to follow the images and events of the story with fascination. This mother–child interaction is, in itself, a profound and effective educational experience—one that can spark the earliest flames of love for books in a child’s mind and heart.

Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten believes that reading is one of the most fundamental tools for children’s intellectual and emotional development. Books help children learn new words, strengthen their language skills, expand their imagination, and gain the ability to understand others’ emotions. When a child listens to a story, they are not merely following words and pictures; they are unconsciously learning how to solve problems, express their feelings, and empathize with the characters. These skills form important foundations for their social and emotional growth in the years to come.
