A Family Journey to Alamut Castle: Discovering History and Spending a Night Under the Stars
As part of its efforts to create opportunities for meaningful family experiences, strengthen connections among families, and build lasting memories with children, the families of Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten embarked on an adventurous family trip to the beautiful Alamut region. During this journey, mothers, fathers, and children shared a unique experience of exploring nature, discovering Iran’s history and culture, and experiencing life in the heart of nature.
The journey began with a visit to the historic rocky formations of Andej, where families gathered to admire the distinctive landscape and historical features of the area. This part of the trip gave children the opportunity to learn about the region’s geography and history alongside their parents while experiencing firsthand some of the natural and historical treasures that form part of Iran’s heritage.
The Pardis Solaleh family group then continued toward the village of Andej. Walking through the village and observing its distinctive character offered a new experience for both children and families. The local architecture, rural pathways, and peaceful atmosphere provided an opportunity to step away from everyday routines and discover a different way of living in harmony with nature.
Along the way, the families stopped to rest and have lunch. A fish pond at the stop created a particularly exciting experience for the children. With curiosity and enthusiasm, they fed the fish and spent time with their parents watching them move through the water and engaging more closely with the natural world. These simple and joyful moments became an important part of the children’s experience, giving them an opportunity to observe and discover the living world around them.
After the break, the journey continued through the beautiful natural landscapes of the region, where the families would spend the night surrounded by nature. They settled into the campsite and set up their tents, experiencing what it was like to live in nature for a short while. Working together to prepare their campsite and participating in different activities made the atmosphere even warmer and more friendly.
One of the most memorable parts of the trip was sharing dinner together in the heart of nature. After a full day of exploring, the families gathered around one another and enjoyed dinner in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was a special opportunity to talk, laugh, and share stories and experiences from the day.
As night fell, a different kind of experience began. The families sat together beneath the night sky and gazed at the stars. Away from the bright lights of the city, the star-filled sky appeared even more vivid. Children had the opportunity to look up at the sky alongside their parents, talk about the stars and the world around them, and experience a peaceful and memorable evening. Sitting together under the stars brought a special sense of calm to the end of the first day.
The following morning, after getting ready, the families set out to hike toward Alamut Castle. This part of the journey combined physical activity, nature exploration, and an introduction to Iranian history. Walking along the trail and reaching the region’s scenic viewpoints gave children and parents the opportunity to share an active experience while learning more about the history and heritage of the land.
Alamut Castle was more than a tourist destination for the children. It was an opportunity to bring history beyond the pages of books and experience it in the real world. Seeing the historic site and hearing stories about Iran’s past sparked the children’s curiosity and encouraged them to explore their cultural heritage. During this journey, history was no longer a distant or abstract concept; it became part of an environment they could see, experience, and ask questions about.
Visiting places like Alamut provides a valuable opportunity for children to develop a sense of connection to and appreciation for Iran’s cultural and historical heritage. Together with their families, the children encountered tangible traces of their country’s past and heard stories connected to its history—experiences that can help build a deeper relationship with their culture and heritage.
After the hike and visit to Alamut Castle, the families continued to Ovan Lake, a natural gem in the Alamut region. Its beautiful scenery and peaceful surroundings provided a fitting conclusion to another part of the journey. The families spent time relaxing and enjoying the landscape by the lake before beginning their journey home after two days filled with exploration and shared experiences.
For the families of Pardis Solaleh, the trip to Alamut was much more than a recreational getaway. It was a collection of shared experiences where nature, history, play, cooperation, and family came together. Alongside their parents, the children discovered that travel can be an opportunity to explore, ask questions, experience new things, and learn, while families created moments together that went beyond the routines of everyday life.
The journey came to an end with memories of the rocky landscapes of Andej, peaceful village pathways, little fish in the pond, tents at the campsite, shared dinners, a star-filled sky, the hike to historic Alamut Castle, and the tranquility of Ovan Lake. These memories will remain a cherished keepsake for the children and families of Pardis Solaleh—a beautiful reminder of a family journey through the nature and history of Iran.
