Mother–Child Swimming Pool Outing

In line with supporting the holistic development of children and providing diverse, purposeful educational experiences, Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten organized a special Mother–Child Swimming Pool outing for the mother–child group. This program was designed and implemented with the aim of enhancing sensory–motor development, increasing children’s sense of competence, and creating an enjoyable and meaningful experience for children under the age of three and their parents.
The early years of life play a decisive role in shaping a child’s personality, self-confidence, and sense of competence. During this period, direct and shared experiences with parents—especially mothers—can have a profound impact on a child’s emotional and cognitive development. The mother–child swimming pool, as a safe and enriched environment, provides a valuable opportunity for active interaction between child and parent; an interaction in which the child, accompanied by the mother, explores a new world and experiences new skills.
In this program, mothers played an effective supportive and encouraging role through their active and mindful presence alongside their children. Close physical contact, accompanying children in simple water movements, and encouraging them to experience a new environment helped children enter the learning process with a sense of security and calm. This accompaniment not only reduced possible anxiety but also laid the foundation for the development of trust and confidence in the child.
Movement in water is considered one of the richest sensory–motor experiences for young children. The unique characteristics of the aquatic environment—such as buoyancy and the gentle resistance of water—help children gain greater awareness of their bodies. During this outing, children, with the assistance of their mothers, experienced simple movements such as kicking, splashing water, floating, and moving through the water. These activities played an important role in strengthening muscle coordination, balance, and motor development.

On the other hand, the swimming pool experience provided an opportunity to enhance children’s sense of exploration and curiosity. Touching the water, hearing ambient sounds, observing reflections of light, and interacting with other children all contributed to stimulating the five senses and supporting cognitive development. When these experiences take place alongside the mother and in a safe and joyful environment, they lead to deeper and more lasting learning.

One of the most important outcomes of this program was the strengthening of the emotional bond between mother and child. The shared experience of water activities and play enhanced the child’s sense of competence and capability and deepened the emotional relationship between mother and child. This strong emotional bond forms a solid foundation for healthy emotional development in the years to come.

Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten continually strives to create a dynamic, safe environment rich in learning opportunities by designing programs tailored to the developmental needs of children. The Mother–Child Swimming Pool outing is an example of this educational approach, implemented with a scientific perspective and with attention to the importance of the family’s role in a child’s education and upbringing.
