From Little Hands to Connected Hearts: A Day in Nature

Nature offers a unique opportunity to learn through hands-on experience. Every leaf, every stone, and every stream of water can spark a new question and lead to a fresh discovery. With this in mind, Pardis Solaleh Kindergarten organized a family nature excursion, inviting children and their families to spend a special day together exploring, playing, and discovering the natural world.

During the excursion, children had the opportunity to connect directly with their natural surroundings and develop a variety of skills through engaging activities alongside their families. One of the highlights of the program was building boats using sticks and leaves. The children selected natural materials, assembled their boats, and created natural sails before setting their creations afloat. In addition to encouraging creativity and problem-solving, this activity offered a hands-on introduction to the concept of buoyancy and the effect of moving air on a sail.

Playing with a ball in the river offered another opportunity to interact with the natural environment. As the children followed the ball’s movement through the water, they observed and predicted its path while practicing hand-eye coordination and concentration. This simple game encouraged them to notice how flowing water affects the movement of objects and gave them an opportunity to learn through experimentation and trial and error.

A nature walk was another important part of the program. Moving along natural trails encouraged the children to maintain their balance, coordinate their body movements, and pay attention to their surroundings. Along the way, they had opportunities to observe the small details of nature, listen to environmental sounds, and experience movement in an environment different from their everyday surroundings.
In another part of the excursion, the children watched the fish and fed them. This experience encouraged curiosity, careful observation, and an interest in living creatures. Direct encounters with nature help children look more closely at the world around them and gradually develop an understanding of the importance of caring for living things and protecting the environment.

Alongside these activities, sharing a meal outdoors and spending time with family members created valuable opportunities for conversation, cooperation, and enjoying moments together. With their parents participating in the different experiences, the children were able to explore new activities in a warm and secure atmosphere, share meaningful moments with the people closest to them, and create lasting family memories.

The family nature excursion organized by Pardis Solaleh was much more than a recreational outing; it was an opportunity for learning through direct experience. Playing in nature, building, observing, moving, and cooperating all came together throughout the day. Experiences like these help children develop independence, creativity, curiosity, and a sense of responsibility while fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.

At Pardis Solaleh, we believe that many of the most lasting forms of learning emerge from real-life experiences—experiences that allow children to explore the world with their own hands, follow their questions, and discover the meaning of learning alongside their families.
